Also, both my argument and your argument assumes that there is no inner reflection. Now, as Greg tells us, they use some coating, and to clarify the matter completely it remains to figure out which side of the middle mirror is coated. Or both. I suppose (as Greg hints) that they suppress somehow the inner reflection. Alex.
