This 1966 Bowditch in good condition was up for auction on eBay for $1.00 (no reserve price) but got no bidders. A few times when items got no bids, I told the sellers I'd bid if they relisted the item at the same price. They always did, or in one case sold it to me "under the table". (You're not supposed to ask sellers to do a transaction outside eBay, and I never have, but if the other guy makes the offer and his record is good...) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3521743063&category=1127&rd=1 Often when I see an item like an old Bowditch or H.O. sight reduction table on eBay I'm unsure what I ought to do. I've always kept quiet for fear of upsetting someone on the mailing list who is watching that item. Of course if the item is something I want, ain't NOBODY going to hear about it! Normally I will not even enter a bid until three seconds before the auction ends.
