Book about Weems flight in 1950 from UK to Australia

    I highly recommend this book:
Box Kite to Bali: The Last Great Adventure of a U.S. Navy Pilot

Edited by Capt Weems' great granddaughter, this tells the story of the flight of George Thackery Weems and his father P.V.H. Weems from the UK to Australia. There are beautiful photographs, narrow escapes, funny stories and skilled navigation by Capt Weems. There is also sadness as both the pilot, Weems Jr, and co-pilot were killed shortly afterwards.
