In a project now in work, Cambridge University Library will digitize the archives of the Board of Longitude and other papers, and put the documents online. "We will build a substantial digital collection (comprising some 65,000 pages of content), consolidating resources held at Cambridge University Library and the National Maritime Museum, and generating detailed metadata and contextual resources to place the material within a rich intellectual framework. Resources will be created to link the collection to the school curriculum and incorporate it within an exciting programme of exhibitions and public engagement being undertaken by the Museum." http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/digitisation/content2011_2013/Board%20of%20Longitude.aspx Near the bottom of the page, under "Documents & Multimedia", is a link to the project plan, which has more details. So does the application for funding: http://www.jisc.ac.uk/media/documents/programmes/digitisation/econtent/econtent11_13/Bids/The%20Board%20of%20Longitude%20BID.pdf According to those documents, the digitization will include: 1. Papers of the Board of Longitude. 2. Official papers of Nevil Maskelyne. 3. Personal papers of Nevil Maskelyne and other Board-related manuscripts. 4. All known publications of the Board (apart from Nautical Almanac). 5. Nautical Almanac, 1767-1831. The project is a joint effort by the Library and the Board of Longitude Project (http://blogs.rmg.co.uk/longitude/).
