I have a cosseted set of binoculars which I try to look after and keep out of other's hands, a set of mid-range Fujinons, 7x50. For everyday, knockabout use I had a set of Tascos. After about 12 year's use, the Tascos were due for replacement. By chance, I picked up a pair of BPOc's,7x30, produced by the Russian KOMZ factory, off Ebay for $69US.
