Somebody asked me today what the difference was between "among" and "amongst," and I replied that "amongst" is the English pronunciation and "among" the American. I also mentioned that people in the U.S. affecting an English accent would say "amongst." So some of us still look up to ya'll, at least the more affected amongst us!
