Herbert,
I have had luck using clear nail polish as a glass to glass and glass to metal adhesive. Acetone or alcohol will clean up any excess. Clear RTV silicone adhesive sealant will work if flexibility is needed.

Best glue for shade glasses

A shade glass fell out of its frame during shipping of a sextant. What kind of glue should I use to glue it back in? The adhesive should be strong, not cause corrosion (degradation) of the coating of the metal frame and must for ever remain sufficently elastic to allow for vibration, shocks and the different temperature expansion coefficients of glass and metal.
