    Howard,

Nice to hear HP and RPN calculators experiences.

I have had (and still have) just about every HP scientific calculator they made over the years. Some were used by my kids in high school.  My current 50g Graphing Calculator is my mainstay nav programming base with more than 50 programs (various lunars techniques, historic reduction methods, the sailings, air nav etc.) Its a lovely development platform and the PC link to it super easy to use a common text editor to create/edit and download programs and test cases.

They are tough, very high quality manufacturing and just keep running (though not solar powered). Never tried dunking them in water though. I'll leave those experiments to the $15 caculators.

    Popko
