That’s fascinating. ECDIS and autopilots are not subjects I’ve studied. Reading today tells me they’re getting very sophisticated. I like the self-tuning of rudder movement touch to reduce fuel consumption. I can see that as far the drive towards autonomous ships goes. Ocean navigation is probably going to be one of the least difficult problems to overcome. DaveP
