Remember, before there was "Master and Commander" there was "Horatio Hornblower". A&E has just come out with two more movies. "Loyalty" and "Duty". They have done an excellent job again, I think. The stories are changed around some though, but pretty true to the books I think. Life in the early 19th century Royal Navy was rough. Three dozen lashes with a "cat of nine tales" for negligence. I think even one or two would kill me. Death by hanging if you ever struck an officer for any reason. But you have to admit it, the Royal Navy was the best navy in the world. Cool, calculating and professional. I think the only ship that gave them a run for their money was "Old Iron Side". Notice, I said ship, not navy. -- Gordon -- ,,, (. .) +-------------------------ooO-(_)-Ooo------------------------+ | Gordon Talge WB6YKK e-mail: gtalge AT pe.net | | Department of Mathematics http://www.nlmusd.k12.ca.us | | Norwalk High School Norwalk, CA | | (o- Debian / GNU / Linux | | //\ The Choice of the GNU Generation | | v_/_ .oooO | | - E Aho Laula - ( ) Oooo. - Wider is Better - | +-------------------------\ (---( )-------------------------+ \_) ) / (_/
