I do not agree with your complacency in this matter. I have seen three retinal holes, two certainly due to looking at the sun through a telscope and I suspect the other was too, though the person denied it.. and I am not looking at pathology cases all day long as in a hospital eye department - only a random sample of people. Ask any consultant ophthalmologist if they have seen foveal damage due to bright sources and they will concur. Douglas Denny. Chichester.
