It's hard to take high altitude sights from a balloon
Does anyone have any leads for sextants being used for balloon navigation prior to say 1910. There are plenty of museum titles for Balloon Sextants on Google Images, but when followed up, it’s impossible to decide if they were a sextant for use from a balloon, or a sextant to use on the ground to record the progress of an unmanned balloon such as a met balloon.
