    Regretfully I can't link the HMS Chatham PDF into the NavL via a direct posting because it exceeds the 3MB limit. I have now discovered I can't post it on the NavL message board either because I don't own the copyright. Not that anyone else does either because (a) it was published in 1732 by the Royal Society and (b) I doubt even that august body could or would wish to prevent
    a clearly flawed scientific claim being discussed on NavL.
    So as I said before, anyone who would like a copy, please contact me.
