    thank you for your ansewer.


    I think now I undestrood how to use the result from the diagramm.


    Just from the estimated longitude, latitude and GHA and DEC I know in which general direction the sun would be.

    Z then is measured eather E or W form the true north direction or E or W from the true south direction. In the first case it woulb be z or 360°-z. In the second case it would be 180°-z or 180°+z.

    That way evan on paper the decision can be made with ease.
