In image 2968 the island of Santa Cruz is shrouded with beams of Sun light. The most perpendicular beam entering through the clouds to the horizon is very nearly in line with the eastern end of the island. The calculated azimuth of the Sun happens to match the charted bearing from the photographer to the east end of Santa Cruz island. I thought this was kind of neat since the Sun isn't directly visible nor is polarized light involved.
