Just a guess. I was trying to verbally describe what I was drawing, Then I have trouble with your solution. If the boat doesn't move at all, the storm will reach it's CPA in 4.4 hours (110 nm / 25 kts) If the boat travels at right angles to the course of the storm for 4.4 hours, it ends up 52.8 nm from its point of decision. I don't believe the difference is accounted for by the storm's CPA to the original position. I thought the original solution was on the right track. Isn't this a vector problem?
