    As Fred Hebard implied, it may depend on the context.  My guess is that 
    "A trip down reality lane" or a "a vit to reality lane" probably means
    
    1) to come down to earth and face the facts
    2) face unpleasant realities
    3) accept that you high hopes have come to nothing
    
    Idioms are funny things.  I remember my wife and German friend having a 
    misunderstanding when the German friend used the expression "you're 
    talking to me".  She meant to imply that she was being told something 
    she already knew.  The proper English for this is "you're telling me".  
    A fine distinction that led to much confusion. And then we have all of 
    the confusion between English English and American English but let's not 
    go there.
