[sorry to be late replying to this... I was on a nice beach vacation] I wrote earlier: "Hmm. OK. So why didn't you complain about attachments last year? Or did I just miss that??" And Dan Hogan replied: "I can only answer WHY DIDN'T YOU READ the Navigation-L Welcome message??? Dan, I read it carefully. I noticed the 'no attachments' line when I first signed up in late 2003 and thought 'hmm, a little old-fashioned, but harmless'. Then just three weeks after I joined, I noticed an attachment added to a list message... and a number of others in the following months, nearly all of them appropriate and relevant. And so I thought, 'aha. an enlightened list manager who realizes that attachments can be useful and only keeps a no attachment policy on paper'. Those previous attachments [from such list members as Fred Hebard, Joel Jacobs, and Richard Langley] were not 'slammed' as violations of list policy, and they did not draw weird accusations of "contempt" and "subversion". So THAT is why I asked you why you (and George, for that matter) didn't complain about attachments last year. Simple as that. -FER 42.0N 87.7W, or 41.4N 72.1W. www.HistoricalAtlas.com/lunars
