Thank you, Paul, for your reply with the explanations and links to your program codes. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of the Astronomical Almanac and at my present location also no access to library; I therefore will try to do it on the basis of your source codes. Looking at those I realise that I may need more help to adapt them to my program. If you don't mind I will contact you on this off list.
