    Fred

Adjusting the function getmu(r) was straight forward. I only realised then,
that the integration needs also to be splited into two parts, one for the
troposphere and one for the stratosphere. To do so one has to find the
integration limit of psi between the two. The paper indicates to this by
using again eq. 2. To my understanding this requires again a
Newton-Raphson-iteration, but this time searching psi for a given r. It is
the coding for this additional iteration where I got stuck now. Sorry, but I
realise that I am just not anymore fit enough for this type mathematics. Do
    you think you may help?

    Thanks, Marcel
