Thanks to Paul Hirose for providing a very pertinent post, as usual. I thought the following quote from the first link in his link as to the short-term effects of mercury poisoning might be of interest. I'm not sure whether they describe more accurately my own symptoms or my wife's, or those of some other members of this list! "Symptoms associated with mild exposure to mercury can include irritability, short-term memory loss and mood swings."
