    Re: Apollo spacecraft sextant

My name is Ron Jones and I was USB Digital for Apollo's 12 and 13. Since I was responsible for ranging and timing at all of the land sites, I was familiar with the ranging system. My concern is that the Smithsonian has mounted an exhibit that claims the Apollo astronauts used a sextant to find their way to and from the moon. It doesn't mention the Apollo Ranging System. It does have an example of the JPL deep space tracking system, but nothing on the derivative used for Apollo tracking. I've talked to the curator a year before the exhibit was mounted, but he ignored my suggestions. Is there anything we can do to correct this?
