    I don't remember the formulas that I used so I doubt that it used Meridional parts which might account for the difference.

    Your Casio RL number of 3898.9 NM is what I am getting as a mid-latitude number using a palm pilot app. The mercator number is 3906 NM.

    Bowditch table #5 meridional parts gives me 3905 NM.
