Re: Another "emergency navigation" sight reduction method

    Hi Stan,

I bought the plastic emergency cel nav card by David Burch and I loved it.  The N(x) table was easy to use, compact, and accurate for life boat or emergency use.  My quick kit had that and a Davis Mark 3 along with other stuff.  Now, I live in Nebraska and do not own a boat but like a lot of us on NavList I do practice shots in my backyard and when I travel.

Untill the Hanno, et all Haversine method the N(x) was my pen and paper sight reduction. I do belive that it deserved more use than it seems to have.  Better than the very long method in the Nav Almanac or even the S tables.

    Just my 2 cents.

    John H.
