Here's a solution that's consistant (if not correct). I grabbed a TLE (two line element set) for the ISS at the appropriate epoch. (since the ISS is maneuvering, it can't be too old) Since xEphem can plot satellites from TLE files, I just added it on. The earth view shows the ISS location. It agrees with with the yellow X observer location. The time and location of the ISS, thus agree with the location of the obsever. The skyview still looks ok. QED
