One last LOP to do for the Exotic Puzzle is the distance short of the horizon.
Formula: Distance NM = Height of Eye NM/SIN(Altitude) x COS (Altitude)
Altitude = Dip + Hs measured from horizon down to object.
For this puzzle:
H.E.= 221 NM
Dip= 18* 18'
Hs=7* 24'
Alt = 25* 42'
460 NM = 221 NM / SIN 25.7* x COS 25.7*
This result is consistent with the other terrestrial LOP's further confirming the cities in question as Grand Island and Hastings.
