    I don't think this puzzle is easy.

    What I have so far:

    Dip at 220 statute miles = 18* 42'
    Hs Jupiter = -6* 27'
    Jupiter Lunar Distance = 13* 16' ( far limb )
    The Moon diameter is used as angular reference ( +/- 15' on Hs and Lunar values )

    From the Cal Sky online star chart:
    UT 0100 on 3/6/2011 fits the Jupiter, Moon, and Omega Piscium configuration (+/- 20 minutes ).

    For Latitude 40* N Longitude 69* W Frank Reed's online lunar calculator shows -7.6' error or 3* 48' longitude.

    The Hc for Jupiter is -6* 37' with an azimuth 279* intercept 10' toward.

    Latitude was estimated by matching Sun and Moon azimuths using a Palm CN application and some trial and error. Lots of iterating to get a good fit for Latitude, Longitude, Jupiter Hs, Jupiter Lunar, and Moon Sun Azimuths.

    A star to star distance would be better than the Moon diameter as a reference for those wanting higher precision.

    I think NASA would get a good laugh out of all this ;-) Am I at least in the right hemisphere Frank ?
