Consider the Great Circle on the Celestial Sphere passing thru Procyon and Capella.
Now imagine a second great Circle which passes through the bisectors of the arcs connecting Procyon and Capella, which arcs compose the first Great Circle.
Clearly the second Great Circle is a loci of points which would have equal altitudes, however only about half that circle would have altitudes > 1°.
The requirement that the sun be greater than 6° below the observers horizon will further restrict the part of the second Great Circle eligible for observers location.
More to follow, hopefully.
