    One thing about that photo that I always marveled at was how clean the face is of the gent looking at what I guess is a chronometer on top of that box.   On so many of the photos, their faces are pretty grimy.   As I recall, Amundsen's camera didn't work and there was only one working camera on the journey to the Pole.
