    Re: American navigation.

The curious aspect of all this, George, is that it is yourself defending so vehemently the authenticity of such an inherently implausible tale.  Sailing a small boat across the Atlantic in 12 days?  Oh yeah?  No alarm bells ringing for you?  To deliver a comparatively small load of fish from North America to the other end of the Med?  No 'hmm..' gets elicited at the receipt of this information?  Given the period, gun-running sounds more likely.

Doing all this while navigating across the Atlantic with a page from the back of the Bible?  Well why not, that's just the icing on the cake.

But what has happened to your infamous scepticism Geroge, to be so intent on having people agree with you that it must have happened just like that?

Nothing "squalid" about a little doubt being expressed here, methinks...  Especially as Frank was careful to say that it COULD have happened just like that, if you want to believe so.  Your tender toes have not been trodden on here, George.  Get over yourself.

Those, to whom a message is unwelcome, frequently choose to smear the
messenger, just as Frank has done in this case.

He has taken an author's personal, first-hand, account of an event, stated
to be such, and called it a "parable", associating it with other so-called
parables, that may or may not have been told elsewhere- but by others, not
    by this author.

Asked for the evidence he calls on to lead him to discredit that account, he
has provided none. He knows, I presume, nothing of this author, and  has
read not a word from his pen, other than those I have quoted. So I repeat
the question: what evidence does Frank call on to lead him to discredit
    those words?

    George.
