I would suggest calculating SHA and Dec of any chosen star for a number of years, e. g., 2000.0, 2010.0, 2020.0, 2030.0, and 2040.0 with ICE and finding the initial position and annual drift by linear regression. Of course, this simple method ignores the effects of nutation. It should be accurate enough, however, for navigational purposes. Henning Umland http://www.umland.onlinehome.de
