Hi Paul,
For the small quantities involved in a bubble chamber Xylene, Iso-propanol or other as indicated by Robert said, like hexane or colorless naphta, I believe they all eventually will do. If I had to establish some guidelines, I would only look at the viscosity (bubble lively than other), low surface tension (some bubble chamber glass are not aged well and have surface imperfection to which the bubble could stick) and no water solubility or better no or minute hygroscopic properties (this doesn't interest the bubble chamber itself but the event that during storage of the liquid humidity sneak in). Low freezing point could be also an aspect to account for cold weather operation.
