Here's a variant of the video that should be iPad-friendly (I was able to play it directly on an iPad, but there are no guarantees how browsers will handle videos that are simply linked like this). Incidentally, Gago Coutinho who used a similar sextant with a bubble attachment in the same period reported that the typical error from averaging multiple sights was around 3 nautical miles.
Brad, you're probably right that the video is from Byrd's South Pole flight. The sextant was the same on both flights, right? It's interesting that the instrument is mounted somehow.
