I use a HanDBase database in my Palm handheld computer to log variance between my time pieces and various authorities, usually a phone call to the Ottawa time standard. The database synchronizes to my desktop, where I maintain an Excel spreadsheet to do the graphs. This helps me to compare the times given by various standards too (Ottawa by phone, CBC radio, shortwave time signal, GPS time signal, Internet times etc). As Peter points out, this system makes it easy to maintain cheap digital watches for time keeping. Jim Thompson
