    Sigh... this thread is fascinating and certainly has some points which
    I will re-read more than once to appreciate fully but how well will
    all this decimal hair-splitting fare in a 10' sea and the deck of 40'
    boat still wet from a three day storm?  Accuracy and precision are
    certinly to be sought after, regardless of the platform, but common
    sense says that at some point "close enough for government work" is
    really quite sufficient.
