re: Apache Runner's question I was waiting to see if anyone with access to the Proceedings of the Royal Society would offer more of an explanation. My public library does not subscribe to the Proceedings, but might be able to get something through an interlibrary loan. However, I am reminded of "Bunson's Grease Spot Photometer" . . . certainly simple and accurate if there are two light sources to be compared simultaneously . . . but I wonder how this could be applied to an Icelandic Crystal. Perhaps with prisms? Any ideas, or have you found more information from other sources? A similar question was automatically rejected Nov 27. -- Richard . . . Using Opera when "the Dog" died.
