John, you wrote: "See Frank, there is indeed great confusion about the role of the AP in the intercept method." I've seen a small amount of confusion, but most of it falls in the "debatable" category, and plenty of it is merely semantic (COMPLETELY distinct from "politically correct" as you put it). Only a couple of side points in the replies really struck me as confused. But where's your original point here? You said that the TERM "assumed position" caused confusion, right? I don't see anything here that corresponds to that point. It strikes me that it may have caused you personally some real confusion when you were learning celestial (were you self-taught? did you take a class? have you taught many classes in celestial? --just wondering, for perspective). Did the TERM cause you confusion or did the concept confuse you? Incidentally, a lot of points have been made and there have been a lot of replies to your questions and also some questions directed back to you, but you don't seem to have paid them much attention. If you ask a rhetorical question, like the one you did about "why not calculate the LOP directly," don't you think you should at least let us know if this was the point you were trying to make? Or are we all confused?! :-) -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList+@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
