Peter Hakel, you wrote: "As a student I found the term "assumed position" confusing. Having only reading materials to learn from and no human expert to ask questions, it took me a while to understand the details of the intercept method. " I'm not convinced that this has anything to do with the terminology. The difficulties you describe are the difficulties of explaining the intercept method itself, first of all, and then the quirks of those tabular methods which require specific and rather peculiar choices for the AP. These are definitely confusing things! No doubt about that. If you referred to the AP as the RP or reference point or some such, it is still what it is. -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList+@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
