There is an error in my previous post In part (a) the assumed latitude is S40° NOT S41°. That is why I say that in part (b) the calculated long1 should be equal to E174° 44.4'.
I am using the formula cos t = (sin h - sin L* sin d)/(cos L * cos d) from Bowditch.
