Bill & others, Now with the averager jam solved (although not yet re-assembled), I have also unjammed the bubble assembly. Today I went out for a first trial with the A-8A, sun shot with natural horizon. Takes a bit getting used too, but not bad on first attempt. Now for preparing to refilling the bubble... I read some earlier posts on refilling, and apparently that was not easy on the A-8A. I am in the process of acquiring xylene and the hypdermic syringe & needle, but have a few questions meanwhile. * The manual says to remove lock screw and then the steel ball on the side. On my unit, I see the lock screw on top, and on the side is a very small screw (approx. 1.5 mm). So what is meant by the steel ball? * What is the small screw on the side? * How much xylene is needed (manual: 4.5 fillings of the lens chamber) * Others used the immersion technique. Is that more advisable? Thanks again! Eric
