The A-7 is back together and yielding intercepts in the +/- 5 moa range. Having a second already calibrated bubble octant speeds up the adjusting. To do this a distant horizontal that splits the bubble on the calibrated master octant is used as a reference for calibration of the slave octant.
An additional filter of solar film can be placed externally in front of the primary prism using handitack. The sharp amber Sun is a more pleasing visual than the original 70 year old red and yellow filters. For some reason there is also more bubble contrast which is a nice bonus.
The bubble chamber is still in need of cleaning and fresh xylene which is to be a more difficult future project .
