I worked out the example from the paper and obtained the following result:
UT of LAN: 19:55:44
Latitude at LAN: N 33 deg 39.7'
Longitude at LAN: W 118 deg 17.0'
Data from the paper:
UT of LAN: 19:55:42
(difference: -2 seconds)
Latitude at LAN: N 33 deg 40.0' (difference: +0.3')
Longitude at LAN: W 118 deg 16.6' (difference: -0.4')
