    But  interestingly the daily pages and the list of 57 nav stars did include
    Polaris  from at least 1950-52. No doubt the almanac editors went through this
    same  discussion and reasoned in part that it was rather for faint for the
    list. On  the other hand, quite a few of the 57 stars are fainter than Polaris
    including  five out of six of the stars added in 1953 when Polaris was  deleted.
