The 2102D works nicely and, for what its worth, had the official blessing of the Navy, when celestial was king.

There is a rarer C/P 300 U.  That offers an adjustable latitude overlay, but this really isn't necessary.

What would you recommend as a non-electronic gadget to help identify stars? The Rude or Weems 2102-D or something else?
