    I may stand corrected...I did not look at the dates on both volumes.  It is the green cover two volume set I inherited from my father's sailing days.  I consider them better than my own single volume later edition, in the sense that I find the index more complete and some of the older information truncated in later years valuable.

    ...I since have acquired an 1868 and 1950 something edition...I forget the exact year as I am sitting at a bar on block island...and amnesia is setting in...although my sextant is on the boat....just in case I can't find my way home..lolol...so far I can't think of any reason to go home ever agian...
