I am getting pretty much the same results from my spreadsheets (see attached).  The intercept calculation (in which I arbitrarily set Ho=Hc) uses the Sun data.

    Byron,
Here is what I'm getting from the Naval Observatory web calculator (see attached)
    Azimuth 19.3* Hc 47* 48.3' Sun
    Azimuth 19.3* Hc 47* 36.7' Venus

Cook and Green had a very good view from Venus Point.

Byron: I just saw a VCR by Ambrose Video, (Ten who dared Captain James Cook. short version.)I know D. K. Kathy Abbass director of the team that believes that his ship HMS Endeavour was sunk off Newport RI and has been trying to find her and to safeguard her. I talked to Kathy this morning about if she was interested in the Celestial placement of the sun and Venus during (Cook's time) the passage? (Bearing and altitude) I think this would be of interest? This was not said in the VCR. I wanted to get the Gmt of the transit and use my 2 minute or 2102 D for the brg and HT. If you have this Sun transit ALT and BRG I would want it. I also wanted to find out if the GHA & DEC. of the sun was close to the today almanac within a degree or so. How far back in time is the 2102 D star disk off within by say 2 degrees in SHA & DEC? Also the sun? Kathy was a little interested but her job is finding/proving, which of the ships sunk and found off Newport is Captain Cooks. Also In the VCR it showed Cook using a horizontal sextant to make Maps, it did not show how he used the angles? How did he?
